Blog ReflectionWhat I liked best about my blog was my creative title that fully suited me. My title was "As Long As My Nails Are Done" because I have a huge obsession with constantly having to have my nails done. I feel instantly relieved everytime I have them done and feel annoyed when I do not. I wish I was more tech savvy when created a blog to make it more visually appealing. I have never been interested in blogs, so I wish I was so mine was more creative. However, I am confident in my writing ability and felt my writing pieces were strong. As far as the blog postings go, I was inconsistent and let other school work take my attention, but I did go back and complete any missing blogs. My commenting on other blogs was where I suffered the most because I was very inconsistent with that. When I did leave feedback I tried to be as helpful as possible. I felt a lot people wrote about their struggle with the semester during the open posts and I could relate to them immensely. The comments that were left for me were also very helpful. They showed me other ways to view scenarios. While I thought this was very tough to keep up with in a college level course where there are so many assignments for so many classes being turned in, I do think this would be extremely beneficial in a secondary level classroom. I think it's a great way for students to express themselves, be creative, and until S collaborative learning. However, depending on your students' access to computers and Internet it may have to only take place in school.

During this open post I am going to explain a hidden passion and talent of mine. Ever since I was 4 years old I have been playing basketball. This sport has become such a passion of mine during the 14 years that I played for. For the longest time, basketball was my life. All through middle school and high school I played for three different basketball teams: recreational, school, and travel. If I was not at school I was on the court. Basketball taught me restraint, it taught me how to be a friend, and it created my character.
i recently went to the Heat vs. Cavaliers game at the American Airlines Arena. The game was amazing to say the least. The Miami Heat is such a huge and wonderful organization that they know how to put on a show. There was fire being shot into the air, loud music, and a hyped announcer. I was pumped to say the least. The game was back and fourth the entire time, which makes for a nerve wrecking yet fantastic game. The game tied and went into a five minute overtime causing even more suspense. The Miami fans were desperate for this win and they pulled it out!! It was a great night that reminded me why this sport is my passion and has been for so long. The book I chose to read was Troy Hicks' "The Digital Writing Workshop". This book is extremely approximate to the time we are in. It's 2017, everything is becoming digital and we need to be able to give our students ways to digitally express themselves. The reason this book is so wonderful is not only because of all the ideas and options of ways to teach writing digitally, but it also walks you through how to use the digital devices suggested. Hicks also does not only focus on grading students by their content but he prepares students for the real world but graded them on the technical essentials as well. What I mean by this is that he teaches teacher ways to grade students based on their margins or the images placed properly on a blog. This book is extremely helpful and full of suggestions to make a classroom more digital and more versatile. The book even goes beyond it's pages; there is a wiki space about Troy Hicks' written works that give even more ideas of how to teach writing and teach it digitally.
Hey guys! I have been so busy but this week I decided to finish a book that I started and gave up about two weeks into the semester. Settle For More by Megyn Kelly is the booked I finished this weekend.. I finished it when I was supposed to be writing a paper but that's besides the point. While I was sitting in the nail salon I reopened this book and instantly felt motivated. If you are looking for a motivational story that will make you want to be better, for yourself, you need to pick this one up. Kelly is a brilliant, beautiful, quick witted woman who can take down any obsticale put in front of her. And she will do it with a smart Alec remark making her even more fantastic. However, she describes her life stuggles that brought her to this successfully sarcastic place in her life. While I am close to graduation, I was in desperate need for a good push. So thank you Megyn Kelly! I will be rereading this soon!
